For Sale Frank Baker Weathervane This very large weathervane was custom made about 1969 for the flamboyant former Vancouver, B.C., Canada alderman Mr. Frank Baker who died in 1989. He owned and operated the famous Frank Baker's Attic Restaurant, in West Vancouver, B.C. Mr. Baker tarditionally wore white clothes and was frequently found making a trumpet entrance into his restaurant. The construction is of heavy multi-layered steel and consists of four pieces. The trumpeter is six feet tall and turns independently, sitting on a directional arrow which is 12 feet long and also turns independently.The four fixed directional indicators are each five feet long and protrude from the 40 inch round ornamental ironwork. The forth piece is the roof mounting base from which rises a 42 inch long 3 1/2 inch mounting pipe. The entire vane was refurbished for the Millennium,stripped down to bare metal, treated with rust inhibitor primer and finally given two coats of rust inhibitor marine paint.Phot is attached.
